Holed Up in a Local Hotel

I have learned a few things about myself and writing.

  1. I need focused time to write. An hour here or there won't do. I need big blocks of time.
  2. It takes me two or three hours to get going, to clear the clutter from my mind, and to get into a pattern of writing.
  3. I need to be somewhere without distractions.

So with the help of a friend, I checked into a local hotel late last night (Wednesday) with the plans of not leaving my room until Friday afternoon. I am hoping I will get 12 to 14 hours of solid writing done between now and then.

If you think of it, pray for me. I'm a little freaked out about an impending deadline, but don't want to rush the remainder of my writing.
