Family Life & Movies

Over the years, Faith and I have adopted certain lines from movies into the culture of our family. Some for humor, some more practical. Here are a few...

  • When one of the kids goes on a rhyming kick, one of us will say, "Stop rhyming, I mean it." To which the other will reply, "Anybody want a peanut?" (The Sicilian and the Giant in The Princess Bride).
  • If someone is whining, we'll say, "Somebody call the Wahhhhhhh-mbulance." (Bruce Willis in The Kid).
  • Many times at the dinner table we'll play the "High/Low" game, and ask everyone to share one "high" and one "low" from their day. (The Story of Us)
  • When one of us uses a big fancy word, the other will say, "I do not think that means what you think it means." (Mandy Patinkin said that to Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride).

What lines have you adopted in your family?
