My Heart Was Touched

You always pray that your kids will grow up and make good choices and have hearts that are beating after the ways of God. Every now and then we get a glimpse of that.

Today I read an email that my soon-to-be-13-year-old, Megan, sent to her relatives as they were asking for ideas for birthday gifts. She wrote:

"i was thinking last night after i had already made my birthday list and had a sudden thought come over me. i have so much stuff already that this year i don't want anything. take the money you would usually spend on me and put it some where its needed. you use it for food or clothes or, what i would suggest, give it to a local charity.

"don't forget to do good and share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God. ~Hebrews 13:16

"And just in case you were wondering I am NOT in need. LOL!"

Megan doesn't read my blog, and if you know her, don't say anything to her about this. Just celebrate, as I am, that God is at work in her heart to make her into a woman of God.
