Superman Leadership

In the current issue of Fast Company magazine, there is some good leadership advice from Bryan Singer, director of Superman Returns. He talks about the importance of consulting with his creative team and listening to them. He says, "I surround myself with people who understand me and aren't afraid to tell me when I'm straying. They're not sycophants, they're friends."

One way to tell if you are a secure leader--can you take advice from your team (yes, those below you on the org chart) when you are about to make a mistake?
