  • Although my official title is executive pastor at Granger Community Church--my role is all about finding high capacity people with great hearts and getting them the resources they need so together we can help people meet Jesus. I really believe I lead the greatest staff on the planet, and my joy is in helping them hit the ball out of the park. In my spare time, I get the privilege of writing books and teaching workshops to help leaders of other churches learn from our mistakes and successes.

    Book "Smackdown" Coming Next Week

    Over on the Pyromaniacs blog, they are hosting a "book review smackdown" next down, and featuring an "open discussion of the contrast" between Pop Goes the Church and The Courage to be Protestant by David F. Wells.

    I don't know anything about the guys at Pyromaniacs, except that their blog has a sweet design with some great graphics. I'm taking a guess that my book will be the one that is smacked down, since he indicates it is part of the 20% junk that gets sent to his store by belonging to a certain marketing group.

    I would encourage you to read both books and join the discussion next week when it is launched. I've never heard of the book by David Wells, but plan to pick up a copy before then so I can watch the conversation with an educated interest.
