Let it Be...Christmas
I can't think of another series that our team has been more jazzed about than this one. That's right...we are going with a Beatles theme this Christmas. With Across the Universe currently in the theaters and the new Beatles-themed Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas called Love, the Beatles are as hot as ever.
Using the music of the Beatles we will be telling the Christmas story all December. And we've been getting great feedback from music lovers of all generation. Here is the rundown:
Let it Be...Christmas
A Story Told by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, George and Ringo.
- Week #1: Nothin's Gonna Change My World
- Week #2: All the Lonely People
- Week #3: I Believe in Yesterday
- Week #4: You Say You Want a Revolution
- Christmas Eve Services: Let it Be

I have been coming to GCC since May '07 and I have to admit... I have had the seeds of some of these criticisms in my heart at times over the years. But honestly, I have only missed 2-3 services including New Community at GCC since May, and all I can say is: a closer look dispels rumors, clears the fog, and silences human reasoning. Questions are good, but judgements need to be based on reality. Passion is good, but we all need to make sure we are setting fires in the right places. Sometimes our self-righteousness is the first thing that needs to go up in flames (I speak from experience). Christ is the center of my life, my family, my marriage. The Word of God is my Life Map and Love Letter from the Father. And my heart is broken for those of my friends who don't know what is hidden within those two sentences. One more thing... GCC IS MY HOME. I think all our hearts beat a little differently in the Body of Christ, by DESIGN, and we miss the point when we start throwing words at one another. But just as one can't really judge what one doesn't really know, neither can another defend what is designed to promote peace. Shalom friends.

In Acts 17 Paul stood before an unchurched, pagan crowd and quoted from their own contemporary poets to point them to the Way, the Truth, and the Life, Jesus. Way to go, GCC! It's so refreshing to see a church actually use biblical methodology instead of pontificate about it.
