Why I’m Voting Today
5 Reasons why it would be tempting to not vote today…
- It’s inconvenient.
- What does it really matter anyway?
- They are all liars.
- Incumbents might all be bums, but a new politician is just an incumbent waiting to happen.
- It’s cold.
5 Reasons I Decided to Vote Today…
- It honors our heritage and my ancestors who died to give me this privilege.
- Elections really do matter (can anyone deny that our country is different now because of the 2008 election?)
- Our country is on a slippery slope economically. I don’t trust (or want) government to legislate morality–but I do believe their choices can get us back to a strong fiscal position.
- There are a few politicians who really need to be thrown out.
- If I don’t vote, I have no right to complain about anything that happens in the next 2 years. And who wants to give up their right to complain?
What about you? Why did you decide to vote (or not) today?

I fear that the day we stop voting is the day we give up the right to.

Ugh. CONVICTING! I don't want to vote for reasons 1-5. With #6 & 7 being I don't trust any of them & they all seem focused on how horrible the others are vs what THEY can actually do. So I'm left feeling a bit uninformed.
But the guilt is upon me. So I've edged much closer to actually going.
Thanks, Tim.
No.. really. THANKS.

All great points, especially #1, this is not a frivolous gift, and #5, don't vote, don't complain!

I like my rights, my guns and "my" money. I think only God and my wife should tell me how to use them!

I vote. Why? Not everyone in every country can. My father fought in WWII; so someone fighting for my rights feels palpable. And it is the least I can do.
