My Favorite Sport
Yesterday we found a little "Happy Father's Day" booklet in Taylor's room. He's our 8-year old and evidently made this gift for me at the end of the school year and was supposed to give it to me–but forgot.
It was cute. Had nice drawings on every page with his view of me. My dad's favorite food…banana pudding. My father is good at…building stuff. I love it when my father…throws me on the couch.
Stuff like that.
Then I turned to the last page and found this…
I knew I wasn't athletic–and I guess my 8-year old also knows that. He thinks when I'm sitting at my desk in front of my computer and paying bills…that is my favorite sport.
By the way, do I really look like an alien from the back?

Is that what it looks like to others when someone is “follically challenged?”
Been there. Still there.

That is good! Very cute, and funny!
Definitely gives all of us an insight into the work-life balance and how are family sees us. I’m saddened to say, that’s probably what my kids would draw too. Wouldn’t it be nice if they drew “us” wrestling with them!
That’s my goal anyway…

Oh, it was supposed to make me sad? I laughed out loud. This was just one page/drawing in a little booklet, so it doesn’t comprise his entire view of me. Just my favorite “sport.” That was the funny part.

Hysterical! At least you have a really huge computer screen, eh?

I got one of those cards from my daughter when she was 7. It was cute until I got to the “my daddy’s favorite thing to do is….” and the answer was WORK! My world was rocked that day! I had to have my wife and kids leave the room while I sobbed. I quit my job shortly after that!

My six-year-old told a whole class of fathers on “Donuts with Dads” day that his dad’s favorite thing to do is “Take a nap with mom after church.”

I can’t stop laughing about this. Hysterical.
