My Kindle 2 Arrived
That's right, I finally pulled the trigger and decided by buy a Kindle 2 electronic reader. And guess which book I ordered first?
I know I'm the author, but it still cost me $9.99 to buy my own book. Life isn't fair, is it?
Now, what should be the second book I order?

Tim.
You can get the English Standard Version of the Bible for free, this was my first download…not because I am uber spiritual, but because I already had Pop Goes the Church on my shelf. Sorry
Tim Stevens
Good point. I did download the NIV for free last night, so I guess that was my 2nd book.

To be fair, since you bought your own book, you may want to buy books you staff has written.
Less Clutter, Less Noise by Kem Meyer.

I will definitely buy it…once it’s available on Kindle. For now I carry a hard-copy within arm’s reach at all times.

What are the links for the Free ESV and NIV? Amazon was/is giving the TNIV free last week.
Tim Stevens
Actually I just realized it was the TNIV that I downloaded for free. Link here: http://tinyurl.com/c3ume2

Kindle books I am reading…
Killing Cockroaches
The Prodigal God

Or take a PDF like this (you are in this)…

and convert it to a kindle book with this…

I did this with my free PDF copy of Vintage Jesus I got when buying the book. Maybe the Kindle2 reads PDF?

“Growing True Disciples” by George Barna
I’m reading it now and love it.

For your second/third book, consider one about authors who are in love with the books they write!:) I think there was one titled “Wrote It, Love It!”
Barry
Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham

I think the ESV Study Bible is MUCH BETTER in terms of usability on the Kindle than the free version. They designed it specifically for the Kindle making it easy to jump from chapter to chapter. Check it out here:

Bit Literacy is a productivity book similar to Getting Things Done: http://www.amazon.com/Bit-Literacy-Productivity-Information-ebook/dp/B001CLFPMY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=digital-text&qid=1240606746&sr=1-1

When The Noticer comes out (April 28th, I believe) you should download it. An incredible read about God working in people’s lives.

I’ve had my Kindle2 for a month now and have 24 books on it already. Just watch…your library will fill up fast. Happy reading. You’ll love it!

Hey Congratulations. I didn’t like the kindle very much at first. My boss just got one and I thought it was a waste of money b/c I like to write in the margin as I read and highlight important parts. But I started playing with his and found the add note function and the “clip it” button. Maybe the kindle isn’t so bad after all.
two cool features if you ask me. So like I said Congrats! maybe I can get one oneday.

Just do a search for the English Standard Version of the Bible at the Kindle Store. Your first option should be the free version.

The problem is it depends what day you ask me about books. Today, I think you should buy ‘A faith to proclaim’ by an old Scottish theologian called James S Stewart that was given to me by a dear friend. Sadly, I fear Stewart may not have been kindled:) It is worth hunting out and taking some time over. Keep being joyful.
